Growing up in a single-parent home in the inner city Tomas Stanton’s neighborhood was surrounded by gangs and plagued by other problems. “Just in the inner city, growing up there with gangs all around, not having a male role model, and just not having any guidance, made it particularly hard for me. We started to ditch school because there was nobody there to tell you otherwise.”
“I have a lot of great memories at the Club, and, hands down, it is one of the best experiences in my life,” said Tomas. “The Club provided more than just a place to go and have fun…the Club was also there to teach me discipline.”
Tomas would later realize the important lesson being taught at the Club, and he has returned share those lessons with youth at the Club as a volunteer coach and a member of the Branch Development Board, which is a fundraising arm of the BGCMP. Tomas is currently the Vice President of Operations for Arizona Loan Center, Inc. and America’s All in One Real Estate Services, Inc.
