Greetings,
At an age when most children dream of becoming ballerinas, astronauts and doctors, 9-year-old Destinie has one simple wish:
“When I grow up I just want to be… loved.”
When she was younger, Destinie’s biological mother exposed her to drugs and other illegal behaviors. Sadly, Destinie was also victimized by her mother’s friend.
While Destinie’s family is getting her the support she needs to cope, she has also found a positive place to flourish and build nurturing relationships after school. That place is the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix. Going to the Club everyday makes Destinie feel like she is part of a community. A community where she knows she is safe, can get a daily hot meal, and just be a kid. Read more about Destinie’s story, click here...
Sincerely,
Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix |
