Halloween Carnival A Ghostly Good Time

For the second year, Keystone Club teens at the Herbert Kieckhefer Branch have hosted a Halloween Carnival for the younger members of their Club.

Teens plan every aspect of the event, including special treats for the kids and activities such as potato sack races, tossing games, face painting, and of course, a “gross out” section with slimy, sticky, and gooey items to touch while blindfolded. The event even included a “Fear Factor” experience where young members feasted on all kinds of ghostly goodies, such as brain soup and eyeball pie!

NEXUS Science & Math Experience

The Jerry Colangelo Branch hosted the NEXSUS Science and Math Weekend Enrichment Program on Saturday, November 7th and November 14th from 8:30am-5pm.

Fox Sports Arizona Character Counts Kid of the Month -- Breanna
Breanna
Kid of the Month
Breanna

Breanna is an intelligent, athletic and extremely enthusiastic 11-year-old. She has been attending the Herbert Kieckhefer Branch for just over a year and a half, and has found a home at the Club. Breanna looks forward to coming to the Club after school and is involved in almost every activity the Branch has to offer.

Over the past year and a half, Breanna has participated in the Art Club, the Monopoly Club, the Science Fair, Torch Club and Flag Football just to name a few. Breanna also plans to join the Club’s co-ed basketball team this winter.

At the Club, Breanna leads by example, always looking for ways to help younger members. She is kind and respectful to everyone and is someone that the younger members look up to, and the older members respect. Breanna is truly an exemplary Club member and a remarkable young lady!
