The BGCMP Dental Clinic - A Crest Healthy Smiles Shoppe - is housed at the I.G. Homes Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix in south central Phoenix. The Clinic was constructed in 1997 and began serving Arizona's children in April of 1998.
Children Served
The Clinic was created to provide dental care at very low cost to economically disadvantaged children aged 5 to 18 years who do not qualify for dental insurance. Children in need of services are often referred by nurses in public and charter schools. The Clinic also serves children living in foster care, group homes, detention facilities, and homeless shelters.
Need for the Clinic
Children lose about 52 million hours a year from school due to dental problems. Among low-income children nationwide, almost 50% of tooth decay remains untreated, resulting in pain, dysfunction, underweight, and poor appearance - problems reducing a child's capacity to succeed in school.
Clinic Services
The BGCMP Dental Clinic is a full-service facility providing comprehensive oral examinations, x-rays, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealant, fillings, extractions, root canals, and emergency treatments. The Clinic is open Tuesday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Click here for more information about how you can help.
