Congratulations Taylor Sturges, the 2011 Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix Youth of the Year!
Sixteen-year-old Taylor Sturges was named Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix in front of more than 1,200 attendees at the organization’s “Today’s Kids, Tomorrow’s Stars sponsored by Universal Technical Institute” event at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown. The 2011 Stars event also honored motorsports racing legend Roger Penske, who served as Honorary Chair.
"I learned so much from being here and I’ve made really good friends. I think the Club has really helped me set goals and understand what is important… like helping people and doing your best in school. The Club gave me great role models to follow and helped me be more confident in who I am," she says.
Taylor has big plans for her future. When she graduates next year, she plans to attend college at either Ohio Wesleyan or Northwestern University and study psychology. She hopes to one day own her own practice so she can help others succeed.
